Company History

The Venjakob Company was founded in 1935 in Gütersloh-Avenwedde by the qualified master carpenter Alfons Venjakob. During and after the war the company was managed by his wife Josefine. She was supported by her brother Werner Vollmer as Managing Director of the up and coming business.

Tables were mainly manufactured in the following 35 years. By constantly researching the market, the assortment was enhanced by including dining table groups, that is, chairs and dining tables.

In 1958 the son of the company founder, Siegfried Venjakob, entered the company and took over company management in 1965. Because of continual growth it became necessary to make some building extensions, for example the building of a new administration centre in 1979 and an extension to the production and store floors in 1986.

The range of products of the company has been continually enhanced, so that the range of production included box units for dining rooms as from 1991. With this addition to its collection, the market shares of the Venjakob Company were improved considerably. Another extension to the company became necessary and this was realised with the building of further production and store floors, leading to a total area of 28,000 sq.m.

At present around 180 employees work for the Venjakob Company and chairs/armchairs, dining tables, dining room furniture and coffee tables are manufactured.
